Swiss Jobless Rate Stable In January
Switzerland's unemployment rate remained unchanged in January, in line with economists' forecast, data released by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) showed Wednesday.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.1 percent in January, as forecast by economists.
On an unadjusted basis, the unemployment rate came in at 3.4 percent in January, up from 3.3 percent in December. The unadjusted figure rose to highest level since February 2011, when the jobless rate was 3.6 percent.
The number of registered unemployed increased by 3,655 from the previous month to to 134,317 at the end of January. At the same time, the number of registered job-seekers moved up by 17,11 from December to 187,417 in January.
